Sarah is a former adviser to both Ruth Davidson and David Cameron and has worked at senior levels in the business and political sectors. She is passionate about opening up government and enabling people to have more influence over their lives and the world around them.
From 2010 – 2012 she worked in Downing Street as the Prime Minister’s Political Adviser for External Relations and before that was a key aide to Steve Hilton. She started working for the Conservative Party in 2006, just after David Cameron became leader, and was initially a member of the Communications Team. She later moved to the Policy Unit and some of the projects she was involved in included the roll out of the Party's new tree logo, four Party Conferences, and producing the 2010 Conservative General Election manifesto.
She moved to Scotland in April 2014 and in the later stages of the Scottish Referendum campaign she advised the Better Together Campaign on stakeholder engagement.
During the 2016 Scottish Parliament election campaign Sarah was an adviser to Ruth Davidson and a key member of the Scottish Conservative campaign team.
She is a former British Army officer and entered the political world after a 10 year career in marketing and event management. She has organised events for a diverse range of clients including Estee Lauder, Lloyds Bank, Goldman Sachs, Sony, Pepsico and the Royal Family.
Sarah is also a Community Councillor in Colinton, Edinburgh and a Trustee of a not-for-profit community-run pre-school.
