Susan has held a number of senior roles in various political and higher education organisations across Scotland and is currently the new Director of the Open University in Scotland.
Prior to this she was the director of a communications and public affairs consultancy, advising a number of high-profile organisations including the Scottish Government and a range of voluntary organisations.
She is a fellow of CIPR and was Director of Communications for Yes Scotland from 2012 – 2013 and co-founded the extremely successful grassroots movement Women for Independence.
She was also the Scottish Government’s first diplomat in the USA, establishing the first Scottish office in the UK Embassy in Washington DC.
